I have been struggling with the backgrounds lately. I think this is a good reference for these widely used smoky backgrounds. The color needs to look natural and the texture wet, much like in traditional painting but having this lack of natural color blending in digital. The best you can do is trust in blending modes. I have seen using the hard light mode for it, and the color dodge may be the most used, at least I do use it most. I’m going to practice with this work in mind.

Sometimes I had like to know who’s the artist behind a pic once I see it. This one deserves a name and I found it randomly lurking in a google image search I did for dragon figure reference. Looks like it may be around the CA.org community but who knows.

Bueno, Ryan Woodward is impresionante.

David Kassan in action. And looks like David Kassan is popular, but I don’t know him. Now I think I’m going to try hard remembering his name, and this vid, so much win on the suggestion column on youtube.

Can’t remember where did I get this from, but it called my attentiion. This is the average skill in everything in the digital media. If I would have to explain someone that know nothing about technology how’s the digital art community, techniques, artwork, etc. I would show him this.
